My husband and I purchased our new home Austin about 6 years ago. We did it on a whim and didn't put much thought into all the work we were going to need to do to it. We loved the location because it was close to the river and that's exactly what we wanted to buy. So we purchased it and were pretty happy with our buying decision. However, 6 years later the work that our home has needed hasn't been done. With paying the regular bills and mortgage we don't have much money left over for home improvement projects that need to be done.
We have talked about it and decided we should try to look for new homes to buy that don't need a bunch of work done. While they may not be in an ideal location, we wouldn't have to worry about what is going to go wrong next. So we have been shopping around for recently remodeled and new homes. We have looked at a few that we like, but nothing that grabs our attention. With a little more searching, I'm sure we will find a home that we like in an area that we like too.
